Mqela Attorneys was formed in 2010 by two University friends who became partners Ayanda Mqela and Andile Dunga at Gugulethu, a township from Cape Town. During their partnership, they were later joined by three other friends from the same university who became partners up until the year 2016.
In 2017, Ayanda Mqela decided to venture on his own and started practicing as a sole practitioner under the current firm Mqela Attorneys. Since then, he has been practicing law focusing on various aspects of law which he has learnt from his days as an article clerk at one of the medium-size law firm from the Boland town of Worcester,Western Cape known as De Vries De Wet & Krouwkam Attorneys where he was exposed to different fields of law such as corporate and commercial law, civil and criminal litigation, local government and municipal law, family law, trust and administration of estates etc.
As a small corporate and commercial law firm, we offer a full spectrum of legal services. These services are structured into two main divisions:
1. Corporate and commercial legal services, focusing on transactional and regulatory services;
2. Litigation and dispute resolution, focusing on litigation and alternative dispute resolution in the form of mediation and arbitration.

Mqela Attorneys is a small size law firm with one Director, two associates and two consultants who are on an ad-hoc basis. In total our staff compliment with our receptionist is approximately 3 people.
